Goodies from The Capitola 2.14.10 reading

| Share

I have some more goodies from yesterday’s Capitola show. It was a blast as always so thank you to everyone who came out for it! Including my sister. It was super nice to see you there, Cindy.

Mary, the owner of Crossroads was just super to us and her place has great acoustics not to mention great coffee! Lots of the readers brought brand new written material of their own for the day which was REALLY cool to hear. Lots of great stuff. Goes without saying that I am so happy to be a part of all this.

The next reading’s date is still being worked out, as there was a conflict, but I will post it here as soon as it is confirmed.

Enjoy and hopefully see you at the next one in March.

ACEO Art Cards 2-10-2010

| Share

Here are a few art cards I am planning on putting up for ebay auction soon. I also may or may not get an Etsy store. People have been asking me about that. Ebay has treated me pretty well in the past regarding these cards, but if you have other opinions, please feel free to leave them in the comments section. I would love to l hear what you have to say.

On the cards themselves, I’m trying to do different series. This of course is the bird series with their Latin scientific names appropriately attached. I also started experimenting with colored collage from my 60’s/70’s magazines regarding the leaves. I usually only stick to my 40’s/50’s mags for collaging but thought I would try this out. The jury is still out on this process, but I feel I need to give it more of a chance than just two cards before I can officially declare it a disaster which we are all about ready to.The committee that resides inside my head tends to shut things down before its time and it is really hard to sometimes convince them otherwise. But I’m going to try hard not to fall for their tricks in 2010.

Bell’s Vireo

Summer Tanager

Eastern Bluebird

Dark-eyed “Oregon” Junco

Oh wait, are you worried that my crazy esoteric acrylic collage paintings of sideshow freaks and mermaids have been abandoned for nature, rainbows and woodland creature creations? No. That is absolutely not the case. They are resting right now. And I promise that is not a fancy word for procrastination.

Watercolor beckons right now and I must answer the call.
