August is already here too?
Summer is distracting. Lots to do and work in before the snow starts to fly and we’re all holed in our houses like a scene from The Shining. That’s probably when I’ll commence my podcasts again. Winters are long here. Good thing I enjoy that fact (up until the end of March that is)
I’ve opened a store over on Etsy. This is yet another one of my grand experiments. I’ll be adding more, including some older pcs of work that need to find a home. Speaking of grand experiments, I also have started adding some additional products which features my art if you’d like to do something with it other than look at it. I’ll keep adding items over there too so stay tuned. If you have a special request for something, drop me a line! I’ve also been listing more art cards over on ebay and have updated my redbubble offerings too. All new art can be seen over in my portfolio/ArtiMake section for the curious. Even got ultra fancy and added some quick direct icons and ads to these places on my site as well.
Band practice has been keeping me mighty busy lately. Since Butterfly Museum wasn’t cutting the mustard we now have a new and official name to announce. We will now be known as French 76. We’ve been working on our set for the August 15th amphitheater gig with The Capitola and along with other, have been working on my tune If I Told You. Kenn (bass, mandolin, drummer, sound-man extraordinaire) grabbed a room recording of it and I’m super stoked at how much life it now has thanks to the French 76’rs!
In other non-art news, I’ve been gathering the bounty from my crops lately and the process of canning has begun. The mosquitoes have been brutal and don’t seem to care one iota that I have layers upon layers of deet covering me and probably shortening my life in ways I can’t yet comprehend. But despite that, I still enjoy smelling the tomatoes and the tomato plants while I’m out there. There’s just nothing like it. Here’s some pics of the progress thus far. Enjoy!

My heart skipped a beat, you’re on Etsy!! I’m so happy for you and your shop looks awesome! It just feels so right to see you over there.
Totally drooling over your produce and completely impressed you’re canning and preserving. Yum yum!
Thank you Tiff! You and my friends Mo, Carrie and Teresa were all equally encouraging in me finally getting over there so I thank you! And the produce has been the only saving grace for this summer as far as I’m concerned. Between bees, 300 degree temps and skeeters.....HA!
I love the art on Etsy and I’m super excited and happy for you and your beautiful bounty of produce beauties! Hoping I can attend French 76’s show this Sunday!! hmm I’m so intrigued by the name? So many ideas about why and what this name represents are running through my head?!?!? but thats what fans do, right? isis referring to mustard? do they all have french heritage? maybe revoluntionaries? ooo I like the last one!
I really like the new version of “If I Told You” too!
Oh, there’s a funny story behind the name but I’m not ready to tell the internet about that quite yet. It’s actually a name of a drink. That’s not the funny part. I didn’t come up with it, but all four of us agree on it and that’s the important thing.
Thank you for all your lovely compliments sis. I appreciate them. Let me reiterate: I REALLY appreciate them
Especially regarding the new take on my tune.
Carol,
You have outdone yourself. Your bounty is overflowing, tomatoes, cukes, peppers, raspberries! Wow! Skeeters be damned! You’re right it will all be worth it come January (or Sept). “If I Told You” really sounds great, and to know it’s an original of yours and French 76 is doing it is the chocolate frosting on the cake! I will need to check out Etsy.
Jean,aka Mom
Awwwww. Thank you Mom! I certainly appreciate that.
Hey Carol ... I had dinner with your Mom last night and she told me about your website. WOW ... you are so talented and I love your song Used To Be. It gave me goosebumps it was so beautiful. Keep up the great work and congrats on all your accomplishments!!
Wow, hello there Shirlie! Long time no see! Thank you so much for the kind words. How heartfelt and they really brightened my day
Hope you are well and talk with you soon!

Commenting is not available in this section entry. So happy you’re on Etsy, and selling there too! And Red Bubble, Ebay… how’s Zazzle- please let me know how that fares- having someone else print on textiles / ceramics is intriguing. French 76 rocks. Love canning, it’s meditative / repetitive like printmaking. Your garden is just like you… amazing.
Do you all have tons of Dragon Flies in Mazo? We have a b*tt load here, twindling down- mostly by the lake. Took video it was astounding, like looking at a Dragon Fly pattern on cloth- but it was the sky and they were all flying around like crazy. Best yet- mosquitos don’t bite when they’re being eaten.
Miss you.
