Time for Some Campaignin’ | Funny Jokes at JibJab

It’s voting day today! And for once I feel confident that the good guys are gonna win. That’s all I will say about that, but seriously, my generation hasn’t really ever been a part of something WAY greater than ourselves and I think this may be it…

All the Sesame Street feel good cooperation messages I was fed in the 70’s, perpetuated by the elementary school I attended that included everyone of all races and people with disabilities which demonstrated equality FOR ALL, that I truly believed in and still do, may very well all manifest itself in real form 30 years later maybe, possibly (please God) FINALLY, today. It’s too soon to tell and I don’t want to jinx it, especially since I haven’t voted yet (after this post, I promise) but for once I am optimistic.

I admittedly have never been political. It stresses and depresses me completely. I also could never watch the West Wing, despite the fact it was an excellent series, because it would make me angry. Angry that we couldn’t have that sort of human and dignified experience. Both R and D parties considered as I make that statement. Don’t people WANT to be happier? Don’t everyday people who are not tycoons or moguls (5% of the country) want to work hard and see their efforts paid off? Could we finally start seeing everyone as a human being and not some sort of label of race, sexual orientation, political stance, or religious affiliation? And truly make the world a better place for the generations to come, rather than them inheriting a world of shit? Or no world at all?

Or at least “work” on it more than we have since the 60’s and 70’s.

I’m gonna go vote now.

Edit to add the obvious: I voted today!

I agree 100%. This is absolutely fantastic and I have a good feeling. Thanks for the “Twee Twee” Street posts. (I had a speech thing growing up).

Historic.

Do you remember Linda Bove? I remember watching her and my Mom coming in once asking me to turn the volume back on (different skit than the one below) and then laughing.

Oh that is funny (although I feel I should not be laughing) I do remember Linda! And it brings up another point of when people can’t speak English and they start SHOUTING loudly at those who speak different languages.

My favorite human character on “Jahdee Nar” (I too couldn’t grasp saying Sesame Street apparently) was “David”. He was always FUN. And NICE.

He rocks!

I love his shirt in the second one and how freaked the little girl looks in the third.
